When should i plant these?

i recently gathered some seeds from a columbine flower and have let them totally dry. but i am unsure when to plant them. also, should i germinate them before planting them? of just dig a hole and drop them in?

When should i plant these?
It would help to know which country you live in.
Reply:Columbine are biannual. Won't bloom the first year, will the second.

Start them indoors and put out after last frost next spring. They like part shade.
Reply:You could plant some of them inside now and come springtime after the danger of frost, transplant to outside and you may get bigger plants faster. Also sow some outside in the spring after danger of frost (after May 1 for Michigan) and keep them moist until they sprout (about 10 days). Water in the morning or in the evening.
Reply:I would keep the seeds in a cool, dark, dry place until next spring. Either plant them indoor in small pots, or wait until it's warm enough to plant them outside.
