Daffodils in garden dying!!! HELP!?

So I have some daffodils in my garden which bloomed beautifully early this spring. However, they have completely drooped over and dried up. What can I do? Are they totally dead or will more flowers come out. Is there anything I can do to make them come out again?

Daffodils in garden dying!!! HELP!?
It's very hard to let them go. But go, they will.

But fear not, for they will be back next Spring to brighten your days once more.

Daffodils bloom once a year.

Cut off the spent blooms and leave the foliage on until it turns yellow. This helps to keep the maximum energy possible in the bulb so it will bloom with joy and glory next year.

I already miss my daffodils, too.

Reply:Hello. Daffodil bulbs flower every spring and then die off over a few weeks to re-flower next year.

How do you treat them?

Well, they need the foliage to make food to flower next year.

Dead head them, otherwise they will make seeds and this will make for a poorer bulb.

You can cut the whole plant down to about 6" and leave in the ground, or, if you want to use the space,

either:

dig them into a trench and let them die off in their own time then dig up and re-plant about oct/nov next year

or:

dig them up and allow them to dry, storing them so air can get through so they don't go mouldy. Re-plant as above.

All bulbs (tulips etc) act in a similar way.

Hope this helps.

Reply:That's it for this year. Let the leaves die back naturally (they'll get yellow and then brown, but try to resist the urge to trim them off until they're brown and crispy-- they've got nutrients that are being transferred to the bulb for next year). Give 'em a little bulb fertilizer next fall and wait for them to bloom again in the spring.

Daffodils are pretty reliably going to come back in most areas of the US. They do best in full sun in most cases.
Reply:Daffodils only bloom once a year. After blooming the flower will die and the foliage will stay behind to create food for the bulb to survive over winter. Don't worry, they will be back next year. If you want daffodils later on this season, try planting some later blooming "summer" daffodils.
Reply:that is what spring bulbs do! They last about 2 weeks and then they are done until next spring. Just let the leaves turn brown and dry then you can trim them to about 2 inches above the soil.
Reply:Just don't mow them. Let the energy from the plant go back into the bulb. Then wait until next year to see them come back up and bloom again.
Reply:They are what I call spring flowers. They only bloom for a short time and are done for the whole year.

Next spring they should come back and bloom again.
Reply:They don't bloom for long. Let them dry out and turn completely brown before you cut them back. This will help them multiply for next year.
