How is this poem ............ ?

I was a desert

A dark and empty desert

Where the wind blows for no one

For no one

Where dust clouds rise

Among the gloom

And bring darkness

To that lonely desert

Neither man nor beast

Dare venture there

For no bird ever sing

Nor mice ever roam

But then one day

When the sandstorms swept

An old man came

A man with a beard as white as snow

Which blew with the wind.

He came one day and

Wandered through that vast desert

And by a tree with a thousand year thirst

He sat, He sat there

He sat there for days and days

Then one day he, Awoke from his thoughts

And walked away

And as he walked from

That dry dead desert

All around

Flowers bloomed,

Birds sang,

Rivers flowed

And that tree by which he sat

Fulfilled its thirst

From the rain which fell

Enriching the dry sand

The dry sand

Which once blew up sandstorms

But now the breeze fills

Those mountains of green

Which were once sand

And that man,

Who was that man?

A priest? A saint?

No, he was a poet

How is this poem ............ ?
It is a wonderful poem with an elegant, eleatic tone throughout. Tell your friend to keep writing! =^..^=
Reply:A very nice poem. I like it. Well done..
Reply:Ure's right
Reply:very nice
Reply:I think it is a good poem. Figurative language, free verse, good use of parallelism, and it may as well be an ars poetica. A good beginning.
Reply:Not very good. Overall Grade D+
Reply:it's good, but not great.
Reply:It's tranquil. Reminds me of the parable of the Fig Tree in Matt. 24.-- Isreael is symbolic of the Tree and when she became a nation in 1948 that was the beginning of her bloom. This generation shall by no means pass away until all that is prophesized about her in the book of Rev. come to pass. I would encourage you to read Revelation if you like metaphor %26amp; poetry. It's symbolic, but every symbol is explained somewhere else in the Bible. www.khouse.org has some great broadcasts to help understand it...just click on the 66/40 radio show link. Really helpful info there. I really liked the poem though. I think I might try a meditation on it and walk through that land myself. I am also a poet. You can read some of my poetry at www.gigisart.com xoxo
Reply:yurn poem is great. in upper stanzas it shows sad state of human mind, then as poetry comes in form of old man our human minds spring with joy of happines, clamness, joy e.t.c.

once again I say yur poem is beautiful, as it shows reflextion of human mind in it. As they say "Good poem comes from beautiful mind only". So keep on writting poems like this, so it can quench the thirst of many thirsty minds.
