What can we do about this collector?

A collector has been calling Our house multiple times a week to speak with a member of our family, however she is at medschool and had just recently returned home for a short time. Before this happened this woman would call us and harass our family. Not just looking for the other person, but HARASSING us, she has insulted me, my mother in law and my boyfriend. She has said things like "asking for a grown up" after speaking with me for over a minute (she KNEW I was an adult), she told my boyfriend to get a life and get some dried flowers, called my mother in law a liar... It goes on and on.

I have already called her supervisor once and asked that she not call here, that if it is that important they can assign someone else our number or he could call himself.

The phone calls from her have continued, she spoke with her intended person yesterday and she asked the woman to mail her the information.

What can we do about this collector?
These people are idiots! First, do NOT send any money or provide credit-card or banking info until you get a bill or invoice from this company. I would try telling her you will NOT provide any information over the phone and that she forward you a statement/invoice with the service(s) in question as well as the Collection Agencies name, address and contact info. In this day and age you need to be very careful about what you give out and to whom. If the harassing phone calls continue inform this lady that you will seek an attorney if she keeps calling and does NOT provide you written proof of what they're trying to collect. If the harassing calls continue you should seek the advice of an attorney. Good luck!

***They will try anything and everything~Good luck!***
Reply:There is a little button on where the reciever of your phones rests when it is not in use. When this person calls, simply press that button and they will go away, every time.

Meanwhile, get the person who owes the money to contact the original creditor. They can provide the information on the collection agency that is calling you. Once you have that info you make proper complaints in regard to their collection methods. This is probably done at the state level with the State Insurance Commisioner. (It is in NC anyway) Start right now documenting everthing. Good luck and hope this helps,
Reply:very simple....pay the bill....when she gets out of school she will make lots of money as a doctor. she can pay you back..like I said, simple
