How to keep plants alive while on holiday?

we need to plant out the flower seedlings from the greenhouse as we are going away in a couple of weeks. Can we be sure they won't dry out and die, hence making our efforts useless?

How to keep plants alive while on holiday?
Hey Shirley,

Irrigation on a timer. Bladders with drip watering, rain barrels with drip watering systems. A hose with a drip water system, left on very low (start in advance so you can monitor). Or you can pay a neighborhood kid to water for you. Teach them how, and tell them what you will pay them.

The seedlings will be very difficult if not monitored by a human, timers may over water, depending on how hot or cold the days are.

Here are some web sites with watering systems, that may be of use to you.
Reply:You could go to any home shopping center, and purchase a simple misting system. putting it up on a timer, hocking it up to a water hose, and arrange it where you put the plants. Time it and it will be no problem.

Another way , there are glas ornamentals, that you can purchase and fill them with the water, put them upside down nearby each plant, it will water as it needs it by themselves.
Reply:When you put them in the ground put a few water gel granuals in the holes, water them the day you go away aswell. If they are hardening off put them in pots and do the same but dont over do it a few granuals is all you need.

Have a good holiday.
