i was away on a vacation for a week. we moved all the pots to where they could get water from the sprinklers. unfortunately one wasn't in the right position and it dried up. my mom thinks its hopeless but it still looks a little green. i drenched it with water yesterday when we got home. it was such a beautiful flowering plant and i know my mom would be disappointed if it was dead. what can i do for it?
Can the plant be saved?
If there's a little green, I say there's still hope! I have revived some really dead looking plants by keeping them in the shade for awhile, and keeping the soil moist. I have an area of my yard I call the "icu" for such cases. Misting them several times a day is helpful too. After the patients are revived and strong again, I move them back to their usual places.
Reply:Green means life. Get some special soil such as Miracle Gro and put some in the pot. You can also buy a produce to restore the beauty, such as a root stimulator.
By all means, don't give up. It has really been a hot summer and spring so far. Do not over water it right now. Just water using a plant stimulator product. Check with your nursery or even just walk around in the local Walmart (if you have one) and there are many products to help with this . I personally use all Miracle Gro simply because they work.
Best wishes. I do not sell or promote Miracle Gro, I have just had the best luck with it.
P.S. Also, cut the dried or droopy leaves from the plant because it is taking a lot from the plant trying to repair itself.
Reply:So long as there is some green color the plant is still alive. You gave it a good drink so it has a shot of surviving, just don't overwater. Keep the soil moist and the plant out of direct sunlight.
I'm no expert but this has worked for me.
Reply:There is hope. Get some good quality potting soil. It is LOADED with nutrients and will save your plants. You can check out http://www.1800topsoil.com for more help. They are national, so they may have someone local. Good luck!
