Why are my runner beans wilting? Yesterday they were fine, today they are starting to droop?

They have reached the top of the bean poles and are starting to flower. Any sign of aphids and they get sprayed by soap %26amp; water as soon as I see them. The ground is not dry and although we have had a fair amount of rain, we haven't been affected like the rest of the country. Could the colder weather make them droop?

get a few old used teabags, open them up and bury it around the plant, the roots will soak up all the goodness and will grow well. it really works.
Reply:Give them some milk , dont laugh , I did but it worked for me.
Reply:Water they need more man.
Reply:nip off the very top flowers and check the soil acidity
Reply:Anything nasty in the soil which might be eating the roots - like weevils, for example?

We may not be having a heat wave, but I don't think it is cold enough to kill off runners.
Reply:Probably due to lack of water, runner beans like most veg need to be watered freely during the summer months. A liquid feed wouldn't go wrong either.
