i have dry sunny lawn, want to put in some low growing shade trees that are attractive.

FAll is the best time to plant tress, but you can do it now..prepare the soil by mixing soil buiders (peat moss, etc) to soil, plant in hole about 1 foot bigger than container, remove from container, place in hole and back fill. Be prepared to water well for entire summer. Feed once a month, but not after the August feeding. The tree will grow quickly if you do all this.
