OK so I snipped the dead flowers off the Hydrangia plant. The leaves are now wilting. The soil is not dry but not wet either. I watered it a little a few days ago. It's not in full sun. It's on my desk at work. Is the wilting normal? Will I be able to bring it back to life?
Another hydrangia question?
Hi:
I have to agree with the first answer. Hydrangeas are really an outdoor plant. One of the most important aspects of this plant family is the soil they are put in. Hydrangeas do like some acid base soil. Their blooms are tempermental when it comes to the right soil ingredients. The flowers will change color depending on the acid content. I am a landscaper and designer, and I would recommend to transplant your Hydrangea outside. If your ground and air temperatures are still cool, bring the plant home, and give it some natural lighting. When your temperatures warm up or if they are warm enough, go ahead and transplant your Hydrangea outside.
I will link you to the garden project section of my website. There is a page on Hydrangeas that you may be interested in. I will also link you to the site map, as this page has everything that is on the website. Browse through and see if you can find any other tips or techniques that may help you.
You can add mushroom compost to your soil when you plant outdoors. This is an organic fertilizer that will last up to one year. Your Hydrangea will love it, even if it doesn't smell great.
If you do not have any space outdoors, transplant your Hydrangea into a container with a light weight potting soil. You can also add some mushroom compost to the potting soil. Make sure the container is big enough for the roots to mature and set it out on a patio, balcony, deck or porch. Good luck to you and have a great day!

Reply:If it's on the desk it may need sunlight and/or fertiliser.
Hyd. are tough, so it should bounce back in no time.
Reply:Do you mean hydrangea? If so it's an outdoor plant, it probably needs some fresh air.
