I have filled bottles with peppers, vegetables, and other foods using olive oil. Then cap of the bottle and dip the top in wax to seal off any air gaps. They will last quite some time if kept out of direct sun light. As for dried flowers I have used glycerine, you can find it at most drug stores.
Reply:can fill them with coloured sand

put a ship in a bottle

make bottle snow globes

just place them as they are on a windowsill as suncatchers
Reply:make your own salsa and fill the jars. there is an acrylic paint you can probably get at wal-mart that is used on glass and porcelain that can be baked in the oven . my daughter found little fairy dolls put them inside the jars and paint a see through frame of flowers on the out side . you can also use stained glass paint . from Michael's. now i have to make a lot of fairy jars for children who want a captured fairy to give them wishes.
Reply:I don't think you use anything with dried flowers.

Get some rub ons for the outside, or decoupage pictures on, and tie with raffia.
Reply:those glass pebbles that you can buy for about $1 a bag

choose a color or two that matches your room.
Reply:Make some money with the bottles. My boy scout troop put candy in bottles and put fabric between the lid and bottle for valentines day and we made about $800.00. You spend a little on candy but you can make much more profit. We plan to do this for every occassion now.
